VIAGRA is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It works by improving blood flow to the penis, helping to achieve and maintain an erection. It does not improve menstrual blood flow or heighten sexual desire. It is not approved for women.
VIAGRA belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. VIAGRA tablets are a type of drug called a PDE5 inhibitor. It works by blocking the enzyme that produces cGMP for men and St John's wort, the chemical cialis, to increase blood flow. This increase in blood flow helps to achieve and maintain an erection when sexually stimulated. VIAGRA works by interfering with the body's ability to produce cGMP, which leads to a decrease in blood flow.
VIAGRA for treating ED was developed in a series of trials conducted in 1998 and 1999. The trials included over 4,000 men who had experienced ED for a minimum of 6 months. The investigators observed that VIAGRA improved blood flow to the penis, making it easier for men to achieve and maintain an erection. The improvements in blood flow to the penis were statistically significant (P<.05).
VIAGRA is not approved for use in women. VIAGRA is not approved for use in children under 12 years old. VIAGRA is not approved for use in women 65 years or over.
VIAGRA is available in a tablet size of 10, 20, 30, and 60 milligrams.
The most common side effects of VIAGRA are headache, heartburn, nausea, and facial flushing. Serious side effects are rare but can include seizures, abnormal bleeding, bronchitis, rash, urinary retention, and hair loss. VIAGRA should be used with caution in women, especially during the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it may cause abnormalities of the pregnancy testicles.
VIAGRA should not be taken by people 65 years or over, since it can cause a severe drop in blood pressure in those areas.

What are Erectile Dysfunction Drugs (Viagra/Sildenafil/Revatio)?Erectile dysfunction (ED) drugs are an important form of therapy for men with impotence and a low sex drive. The medication can have side effects such as headache, flushing, or chest pain, but they are generally mild and short-lived. Most erectile dysfunction drugs have no effect on other sexual function, and they can be prescribed as needed or even used as a daily or as part of a sexual therapy. The only ED drug that is FDA-approved for sale is sildenafil (Viagra/Sildenafil). Sildenafil is a PDE-5 inhibitor that works by inhibiting an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5), which in turn allows for increased blood flow to the penis, resulting in an erection. Sildenafil is available as a generic drug and can be obtained with a prescription. Sildenafil is used to treat pulmonary hypertension and is also used for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
How do you take Viagra/Sildenafil?The medication comes as an oral tablet and a liquid. The tablets should be swallowed with a glass of water, with or without food, but if you are using a soft drink, take one tablet before you eat. Do not crush or chew the tablet. It may take several days to take effect. In some men, a dose of 25 mg or 50 mg is prescribed. You should take Viagra/Sildenafil at least three hours before sexual activity. In most cases, this may mean that it takes time for the medicine to work. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Sildenafil is a prescription-only medicine and is not available over the counter.
What should I do if I miss a dose?If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one. Do not take two doses at once. If you take Viagra/Sildenafil more than 4 hours before your next dose, you should not use it. Sildenafil is not recommended for women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant. It is not known whether Viagra/Sildenafil is safe and effective for women who are pregnant. If you are planning on becoming pregnant, you should not take the medication.
What are the side effects of Viagra/Sildenafil?Side effects may include headache, flushing, and stomach upset. More serious side effects are rare but can include vision changes such as blurred vision or other changes in color vision. If you experience any of these, stop taking Viagra/Sildenafil and contact your doctor right away.
Viagra/Sildenafil may not be as effective as the brand-name drug Cialis (tadalafil), and may be associated with increased side effects. Some men may experience headaches, muscle aches, and dizziness. Viagra/Sildenafil may also cause a temporary decrease in blood pressure and may require adjustment of your dose or treatment.
Does Viagra/Sildenafil cause erectile dysfunction? There are no reports of sexual dysfunction in men taking Viagra/Sildenafil. A very small number of men report that Viagra/Sildenafil does not cause erectile dysfunction. Viagra/Sildenafil may increase the blood pressure and should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, liver disease, or who have had an allergic reaction to sildenafil. It is not known if Viagra/Sildenafil causes a man to get dizzy or a fainting condition.

A woman and her husband were accused of cheating and selling a fake Viagra product to the unsuspecting public on a private plane.
The pair was charged with two counts of illegally importing and distributing a counterfeit Viagra product to the public and distributing it to the public, a federal district court in Melbourne ordered.
The alleged offences were the following:
1) for the purpose of introducing a counterfeit Viagra product into interstate commerce;
2) for the purpose of encouraging the smuggling of a counterfeit product into interstate commerce and for the purpose of encouraging the possession and distribution of the counterfeit product for the purposes of encouraging the smuggling of the counterfeit product into interstate commerce.
The pair were each charged with one count of illegally importing and distributing a counterfeit Viagra product to the unsuspecting public on the public plane.
The Federal Court of Australia found the pair was a "fraudulent and defraffed" user and that they engaged in "conduct for the purpose ofurrent use", which was to "obtain, in order to facilitate the dissemination and enjoyment of the counterfeit product" to the unsuspecting public, which they were "concerned about" and "improved the general welfare of the public".
